So I figure it's was time to get a new tv so I purchase a Samsung 55 inch smart tv, after one week of use the Samsung, it does not event come close to my old Panasonic. The picture went wide a few months ago and everyone looked fatter. Made me feel better because no one looked skinny anymore, but I couldn't find a way to get the picture back the way it should be. Then one day, turned it on and only a 6" strip across the screen was showing the picture. The top 6" were black and then you could see 6" of the picture, then the rest of the tv was black. I looked on line and read that people were having a similar problem and it was costing them around $500.00 to repair. My tv is out of warranty. I paid $500 for it so I went out and purchased an LG 47`Smart LED TV for $549.00. Won`t buy another Panasonic. I would add my name to a class action suit. We h- ad lot everything in a house fire and were thrilled to get such a large TV with a great picture. Less than a year after buying it - there was a power surge - the TV went off and I started looking on the internet to see if there was something we could do. That's when I saw the information about the bad on/off switches. We did as the instructions told us - un plugged it - left it unplugged - then turned it on with the TV remote not the cable. After several attempts and a couple days it finally came back on. As the 1 year anniversary of buying the TV came closer I called Panasonic and wanted to know what they were going to do about it. The person had us walk through the turn on cycle again and the darn thing came right back on. She did however post in their computer system that I had call prior to the 1 year date. I don't know if the person that helped me was suppose to have told me or not but she said that the same on/off switch was in many of Panasonics electronics. I asked her then as far as she knew Panasonic was aware of the problem but totally disregarded the problem for profit. She was very sympathetic. You would think that by them knowing the switch was bad they should be held liable for it. Just like when a automobile switch is bad - it might not turn on - but a bad electronic anything can short out at any time. Make them liableAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
